Saint Kitts and Nevis Congratulates Central American Nations on Independence

As Saint Kitts and Nevis prepares to celebrate its Independence Anniversary on September 19th, on Monday, the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Saint Kitts and Nevis extended warm congratulations to the Central American nations of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, who observe their Independence Day on September 15th. These countries simultaneously marked their freedom from Spanish rule in 1821, just a few days before Saint Kitts and Nevis would gain its own sovereignty.

September is a busy month for independence celebrations across the Americas. In addition to the countries above, Mexico marks its Independence Day, today, September 16, Chile on September 18, and Belize on September 21. Altogether, at least seven countries celebrate independence during this month, highlighting its historical significance for the region.
