Saint Kitts and Nevis receives over 180 in medical supplies from Republic of China (Taiwan)

In a significant contribution to the delivery of healthcare in the federation the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis has received donations of 36 toilet chairs, 64 walkers and 87 wheelchairs amongst other medical supplies.

 

The donation provided by the Taiwanese charity organization, Cao Zhong Zhi Foundation, was presented by representatives of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

 

The republic’s Resident Ambassador, His Excellency, Michael Lin, expressed his belief that the items will be distributed to those in need across the federation.

 

Prime Minister and Minister of Health, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew while expressing his thanks and gratitude on behalf of the nation’s people, took the opportunity to advocate for the Republic of China (Taiwan)’ s inclusion in international organizations.

 

Drew stated: “Taiwan continues to be on the cutting edge of medical development and technology, and therefore, we believe that Taiwan should be at the table”.

 

He continued: “Taiwan should be invited to be a partner and a collaborator—one who would bring its experience and its knowledge to contribute to the health of the world”.
