Saint Kitts and Nevis Showcases Sustainable Ambitions at 2025 SDG Asia Exhibition

Saint Kitts and Nevis made a strong impression at the 2025 SDG Asia Exhibition, promoting its Sustainable Island State Agenda (SISA) as a model for environmental and social transformation. Represented by its Embassy in Taiwan, the Federation highlighted the seven pillars of its national agenda: Energy Transition, Water Security, Food Security, Sustainable Industries, Sustainable Settlements, Circular Economy, and Social Protection.

 

Ambassador His Excellency, Donya L. Francis emphasized the country’s commitment to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and transforming by 2040. “The government of Saint Kitts and Nevis is committed to transforming the country by 2040 with projects like our water desalination plant, geothermal energy exploration, a 50 KW solar energy plant, waste management, smart homes and a new smart hospital,” he noted.

 

Also cultural performances showcasing steel pan music and the clown dance which was done by student ambassadors.

 

In a parallel achievement, the Taiwan ICDF, alongside St. Kitts and Nevis and Taipei Veterans General Hospital, received the 2025 Asia-Pacific and Taiwan Sustainable Action Gold Award for their collaborative Metabolic Chronic Disease Prevention and Control System. Alongside the prevention and control system, it has improved public health literacy and promoted healthy habits among children over the past four years.
