SCASPA cruise trainee pilots to receive highly accredited training

SCASPA (St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority) continues to affirm its commitment towards the development of its staff and their skill set through the recent international training of its two (2) Cruise Trainee Pilots.

 

 

 

On Saturday February 18th, SCASPA’s Cruise Trainee Pilots, Kyran Pereira and Mauriel Knight, departed the federation for the commencement of a 2-3 weeks course at the highly accredited, world-class, clinical simulation research center Star Center, located in South Florida.

 

 

 

The Bridge Simulator and Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) Training course will cover areas of Advance Ship Handling, Bridge Resource Management (BRM), and Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) amongst other cruise and navigation simulating topics.

 

 

 

After successful completion of the course, the pilots will return to the Federation as newly qualified trained pilots increasing SCASPA’s quantity and quality of trained pilots in St. Kitts.

 

 

 

Minister of Aviation, Dr. Denzil Douglas, extended congratulations to Mr. Pereira and Mr. Knight and said “we wish them every Success and may they return fully equipped and qualified”.
