Schools closed for the rest of the academic year due to Covid-19 community spread
That was Federal Minister of Education, Jonel Powell.
Schools in St. Kitts and Nevis were initially closed to in-person lessons for two weeks on May 24th, after contact tracing for individuals that tested positive for COVID-19.
A number of educators and students have since tested positive for the virus. Teachers on both islands have since been conducting classes virtually.
Minister Powell on Thursday, June 3rd, explained the reasons why institutions (from early childhood centers to secondary schools) will remain closed for the remainder of the year.
