Hosted by the Organization of American States (OAS), the event will run from March 23rd –27th, 2026, under the theme “Equality that Inspires, Freedom that Transforms, and a Hemisphere that Leads.” It forms part of a wider effort to recognize the contributions and cultural legacy of people of African descent across the Americas.
Anslyn’s piece, noted for its vibrant composition and portrayal of feminine resilience, was chosen for its reflection of unity, diversity, and the role of women in shaping societies. The artwork is currently exhibited at the Art Museum of the Americas following his 2024 competition win.
Ambassador Jacinth Henry-Martin praised the selection, highlighting the work’s ability to elevate Caribbean identity on a hemispheric stage. The week’s programme will include policy discussions and cultural showcases promoting inclusion and equity.
