SKN celebrates May 5th as Labour Day 2025

May 5th, 2025 was Labour Day which is a public holiday in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Labour Day is observed on the first Monday in May annually. This holiday is held in honoring workers and recognizing their contributions to society.

 

The St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party hosted a Labour Queen Show on Saturday, at Carnival Village in St. Kitts. Ms. Shakaylia Tatem of Constituency #1 was crowned as the 2025 queen.

 

According to the party’s facebook page: “With unmatched grace, commanding presence, and a fire that lit up the stage. A true embodiment of strength, beauty, and Labour pride, Shakaylia has etched her name in the legacy of queens who lead with purpose and passion. The crown is not just an accessory, it’s a symbol of her power. Congratulations Miss Shakaylia Tatem on your victory”!

 

Further, an annual March was held  through the streets of Basseterre as part of celebrations.

 

In addition, the Party hosted a series of pre-Labour Day meetings.
