World Tourism Day has been held annually on September 27th each year, since 1980. The date marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Statutes of the Organization in 1970, paving the way for the establishment of UNWTO five years later, according to un.org.
The theme “Tourism and green investment” highlights the need for more and better-targeted investments for the Sustainable Development Goals, the UN roadmap for a better world by 2030. Federal Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson, delivered an address on the World Tourism Day and said:
