SKN Government’s Retail Bond for Households and NGOs goes live

Those were the sounds of the Government of Saint Christopher and Nevis Household and Non-Governmental Organization Retail Bond going live today, September 22nd, 2026, during a special ceremony.

 

The two-year retail bond is aimed at widening household participation in the Eastern Caribbean’s capital markets. It offers a fixed 4.50% interest rate, with investments starting at EC$500 and capped at EC$125,000. Subscriptions run from September 22nd to October 23, 2026.

 

The initiative forms part of a wider Eastern Caribbean Currency Union effort to move citizens from traditional saving toward investment and wealth creation.

 

Regional Debt Coordinating Committee Chairman, Francis Fontenelle said household participation in the regional government securities market had previously stood at just over 600 people across an ECCU population exceeding 600,000, with the minimum investment set at EC$5,000. That threshold has now been reduced to EC$500.
