SKN Gov’t moving to reduce interest rate on DBSKN student loans, date to be announced soon
Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr. Terrance Drew.
It comes following a discussion the Prime Minister had on Wednesday March 15th, with the Financial Secretary, Mrs. Hilary Hazel and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, Mr. Shavon Douglas.
It is the view of the Dr. Drew-led Administration that the education of the nation’s youth is of critical importance if St. Kitts and Nevis is to remain competitive.
Although the aforementioned announcement is welcomed news, the date in which the measure will take effect, is expected to be announced soon. PM Drew explained his rationale behind the news:
