Notwithstanding the Federal Government running a deficit budget amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, what if the surpluses St. Kitts & Nevis has recorded, are depleted?
Recently, Financial Secretary, Mrs. Hilary Hazel, stated that the Government is using its surpluses to fund initiatives to aid its’ citizens and residents.
The Federal Budget, which was passed in parliament last December, is to the tune of $867.9 million.
A financial contingency plan identifies worst-case scenarios and their impact and presents potential responses. Nonetheless, the Government remains positive with respect to the economy.
