SKN joins CARICOM in observing CARICOM Energy Month
St. Kitts and Nevis joins the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in observing CARICOM Energy Month (CEM). CEM is observed by the member states of the Caribbean Community (to which the Federation is a member) annually in November.
The spotlight is placed on energy as part of efforts to raise awareness on what is occurring in the region (specifically varied sources of energy) and to increase knowledge about the sector. “Our future is electric” is this year’s theme.
Minister of Public Utilities and Energy – Hon. Konris Maynard, explained in his address to mark the occasion, why the theme was chosen:

Over the last few weeks, Minister Maynard commissioned a National energy Task Force to “guide our pathway to 100% energy independence, through renewable sources.”
