“The role of a firefighter in today’s society…is one of dedication, commitment and sacrifice”, according to firefightersday.org, as St. Kitts & Nevis joined the rest of the world in observing International Firefighters’ Day (IFFD) 2023.

IFFD, observed each year on May 4th, is a time where the world’s community can recognize and honour the sacrifices that firefighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible.

With this in mind, Acting Fire Chief at the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services (SKNFRS), Mr. Rommel Williams, addressed the nation on the occasion of the observance.
