SKN Mental Health Professional Contingent completes training in Taiwan

A total of three professionals in the mental health field has completed a five-week training course in Taiwan.

 

 Natasha Mitchum, Mc Millan Cuffy and Sheron Morris successfully completed the course and were awarded certificates after presenting their reports on the course at a closing ceremony on Thursday, May 15th, 2025.

 

 The “2025 Seed Instructor Training for Mental Health Service System Enhancement Project in St. Kitts and Nevis” is the first of its kind and funded by the International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF) and facilitated by the Taipei Veterans General Hospital.

 

 The seed instructors crafted two teaching modules for schizophrenia and anxiety disorders.

  

They also developed two educational tools to support mental health awareness in the Federation and are endeavored to change the look of psychiatry on the islands by educating other mental health professionals, campaigning to reduced stigma and discrimination, and advocating for patients.
