Concerning matters of diplomacy, several meetings took place in the federation on November 26th.
Firstly, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew met with Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Colombia, Her Excellency Emiliana Bernard-Stephenson to discuss the strengthening of diplomatic matters between SKN and Columbia that began in the year 1984.
PM Drew also met with MVO, High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Saint Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Mr. Scott Furssedonn-Wood. Formal discussions took place including several matters such as strengthening ties between the federation and the United Kingdom.
Additionally, Members of the Federal Cabinet along with PM Drew welcomed Former Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Tony Blair to discuss a potential partnership between the federation and the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) in regards to several significant areas of SKN’s Sustainable Island State Agenda (SISA).
Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark A.G. Brantley also met with Mr. Blair to discuss the same topic.
TBI is a non-profit organization that works with political leaders and governments to provide support in projects and policies that promote sustainability.
