A fatal shooting incident that occurred in the Basseterre area in St. Kitts, is being investigated by police. Authorities responded to a report of the incident at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1st.
According to a Press Release, 30-year-old Sylvester Crossley of Half Way Tree, went into a business establishment and while waiting, he was accosted by a lone, masked gunman, who shot him several times about the body then fled the scene.
The District Medical Officer pronounced Crossley dead and the crime scene was processed by personnel from the Forensic Services Unit.

This homicide comes on the heels of the murder of 27 year-old Dequan Maloney, who was found in the trunk of a car last Friday (Jan. 27th). Crossley’s death takes the Federation’s murder toll to 3, so far for 2023.

Reports have indicated that a few more shooting incidents occurred, sometime before the Federation’s latest homicide.
Sources close to the VONNEWSLINE say one occurred in the New Pond Site, St. Kitts, but there were no reports of injuries or fatalities.
In addition, a shooting incident occurred in Conaree where several shots were fired from a moving vehicle in an apparent drive-by shooting. There were no reports of injuries or fatalities.
