SKN to benefit from duty free concession as of November 1st

Citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis (SKN) will once again benefit from the annual duty-free concessions on imported foodstuff during the Christmas season.

 

According to a Press Release that was issued by the St. Kitts and Nevis Customs and Excise Department, effective Tuesday, November 1st 2022, gift packages of food stuff up to 400lbs are allowed free of duties and taxes.

 

Non-commercial imports will receive duty free allowance of up to EC$ 540.00 or (US$ 200.00) off of the CIF value.

 

Duty free allowance will be applied to goods landed in the federation until December 31st, 2022.

 

This decision was approved by the Federal Cabinet.

 

However, the VON NEWSLINE has not received information pertaining to a decision of the two reduced Value Added Tax (VAT) rate days in December.
