In an update, the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) has confirmed that a member of the Force was injured in a stabbing incident in the Newtown area, St. Kitts, on Saturday, Oct. 3rd.
A press release posted on social media by the SKNDF says “the soldier, a member of the SKNDF Band, was off duty at the time. He was in the area socializing with members of the Nu vybes Band, as he regularly does.”
The release mentioned “during the evening, the soldier observed a scuffle involving several young persons and attempted to intervene and separate those involved. During the intervention, he was stabbed. The soldier was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where he underwent an emergency operation and remains in stable condition.”
SKNDF said it “is aware of the circumstances surrounding the incident and has provided relevant information to the appropriate authorities. The investigation remains ongoing.”
