The St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) will undergo enhanced training across all ranks in 2026, announced Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew. A recent assessment by the Regional Security System (RSS) recognized the dedication of SKNDF personnel while identifying gaps in specialised areas that need attention.

“Modern security challenges demand professionalism, technical competence, and strong leadership at every level,” Dr. Drew stated. Plans include local strategies and deepening ties with the Guyana Defence Force through a forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding to expand training, leadership development, and operational cooperation.

The government is also investing in SKNDF infrastructure, upgrading facilities, vehicles, and medical capabilities. Dr. Drew emphasized that discipline, readiness, and service are critical, assuring personnel that their work is valued and supported as they protect the nation.
