SKN’s approach of addressing crime captures UN’s attention

The Federal Government’s approach to addressing crime has led to an 80 percent reduction in homicides and this has captured the United Nations (UN)’s attention.

 

Under the current SKNLP Drew-led administration, since taking office in 2022, the Government has been addressing crime as a public health issue.

 

The strategy treats violence as a preventable and curable issue, targeting root causes such as trauma, social conditions and youth vulnerability. The initiative relies heavily on community involvement, noting strong public support for prevention programs and interventions.
