Prime Minister, Dr. Terrance Drew has issued a message in the wake of the shooting incidents that have rocked SKN.

In his message on his Facebook page, he said “as you know, I am currently in the United Arab Emirates negotiating with tremendous success for the economic prosperity of St. Kitts and Nevis, however, I am still very much in tune with everything happening at home.” He added “let me firstly extend my sincerest condolences to the families and friends and wish all a speedy recovery.”

PM Drew mentioned that “I have been in touch with the Commissioner of Police, the Commander of the military and the National Security Advisor to get an assessment of what is taking place and their strategy for the continued protection of our citizens and our national security.”

In seeking to comfort the public he stated “I want to reassure the public that the national security of St. Kitts and Nevis remains solidly intact and these random occurrences are being dealt with.”

As he asked for the general public’s cooperation with the security, he also mentioned that the Government will continue to invest in national security “as people are our number one priority.” PM Drew spoke of a citizen security secretariat being “in the final stages”.
