SKN’s PM travels to the UK for “Future of Citizenship by Investment” dialogue
SKN’s PM travels to the UK for “Future of Citizenship by Investment” dialogue
SKN’s Prime Minister and Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Dr. Terrance Drew, participated in the January 20th-22nd, “Future of Citizenship by Investment” dialogue at Wilton Park, London, United Kingdom.
The important three-day discussion brought together leaders from Eastern Caribbean states that operate Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programmes, along with relevant regional and global stakeholders, academic experts and senior representatives from other governments.
It provided a platform for stakeholders to further build on their understanding and clarify concerns about the CBI programmes across the region, with the aim of strengthening processes and the long-term vision and role of CBI programmes in the Eastern Caribbean.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Attorney General, Garth Wilkin and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Citizenship by Investment Unit of St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Calvin St. Juste.
The Federation’s CBI programme is the oldest in the world of its kind (created in 1984). Under the programme, foreign investors are granted citizenship of the twin island Federation in return for making substantial investments in the socio-economic development of the country.
