St. Kitts and Nevis and Japan Mark 40 Years of Diplomatic Ties
The Government of Japan and the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations with the recent appointment of His Excellency Miyasaka Yusuke as Japan’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Federation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas, welcomed Ambassador Miyasaka, expressing gratitude for Japan’s longstanding support in areas such as health, fisheries, education and disaster risk reduction.
Ambassador Miyasaka said his government is eager to strengthen ties and stand ready to assist wherever possible. He also welcomed Dr. Douglas’ planned participation in the National Day Event at EXPO 2025 in Japan, calling it an important opportunity for cultural exchange.
This year marks 40 years of diplomatic relations between St. Kitts and Nevis and Japan, with both governments confident the friendship will continue to grow through greater cooperation in the years ahead.
