St. Kitts and Nevis Government writes off LIAT’s $11 million dollar debt

That was Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris.

LIAT which means (Leeward Islands Air Transport) the Antigua based sub-regional air carrier, faced a period of uncertainty, after it emerged that it urgently needed an immediate cash injection of at least US$5 million to remain in operation earlier this year.

Prime Minister Harris on December 1^st, listed the reasons for the government’s decision to forgive the debt LIAT owed:
