St. Kitts and Nevis Receives Hurricane Relief Packages

On Thursday September 25th, Minister of Agriculture et.al in St. Kitts, the Hon. Samal Duggins handed over 400 hurricane relief packages to the National Emergency Management Agency. The packages, including water bottles, flashlights and tarpaulin, were donated by Aquarian Consult of Nigeria, strengthening ties between St. Kitts and Nevis and Africa.

 

The donation was received by Mr. Livingston Pemberton, Director of St. Kitts Disaster Management and Mr. Brian Dyer, Director of Nevis Disaster Management, who thanked the Minister and noted that hurricane preparedness requires everyone working together.

 

Managing Director of Aquarian Consult, Ms. Aisha Maina, said the donation reflects a commitment to keeping St. Kitts and Nevis safe and connected, building what she called a “transatlantic bridge.”

 

Minister Duggins added that while the Federation had been spared this season, hurricane preparedness remains vital and partnerships like this ensures communities are ready for any storm.

 

The handover highlights the Government’s ongoing effort to strengthen resilience and protect the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.
