St. Kitts Farmer’s Cooperative Society celebrates 20 years

On Sunday, January 15th, the St. Kitts Farmer’s Cooperative Society celebrated 20 years of existence.

 

 

 

An Awards Ceremony & Luncheon was held to honour those who have made sterling contributions throughout the years of the society.

 

 

 

The luncheon was attended by Prime Minister – Dr. Terrance Drew, Federal Minister of Agriculture et. al. – Hon. Samal Duggins as well as members of the society.

 

 

 

During that evening, Minister Duggins who recognized the farmers was quoted as saying “it was an honour to pay tribute to the Arabella Nisbett, Luther Clarke, Paulette Peets, and Ernest Wigley who have all been beacons as it relates to the development of agriculture in the Federation.”

 

 

 

Prime Minister Drew who also made brief comments for the occasion was quoted as saying “Our St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Administration is devoted to modernizing and bringing the Agriculture Sector into the twenty-first century. This objective is a vital component of our effort to reimagine our growth to create a sustainable island state.”
