St. Kitts’ King Drewzy placed 2nd Runner Up in Leeward Island Calypso

 

Kittitian King Drewzy, secured 2nd runner up at the 28th Annual Leeward Islands Calypso Competition held at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Centre in Anguilla. He was amongst nine (9) calypsonians including Nevis’ own reigning monarch Empress Lyric who performed in the 2nd position. 

 

 

King Drewzy performed in the 8th position during the two rounds of the event. In the first segment he opened with “Peace to Pieces” accompanied by the Anguilla National Children’s Choir. The second round saw his performance of “New Deal”.

 

 

He scored a total of 761 points while Ge’Eve from Antigua and Barbuda with 826 points took home the crown for the competition with her pieces ‘One Man’ and ‘Daughter Come’ followed by Queen Roxxy taking 2nd place from Anguilla with 771 points withYou and I’ and ‘Fire’.
