St. Kitts Marks Arrival of WinAir’s First Direct Flight from Barbados

On January 15th, 2026, St. Kitts welcomed WinAir’s inaugural flight from Barbados, marking a notable expansion in regional air connectivity and strengthening travel links within the Caribbean.

 

The arrival was officially celebrated with a brief ceremony attended by Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Marsha Henderson, WinAir Commercial Director Manuel Esu; Marketing Manager Pascalle Wong-A Foe; First Officer Brian Alleyne; members of the airline’s crew; and key tourism stakeholders. The event underscored the importance of enhanced regional transportation in supporting tourism growth and economic cooperation.

 

The new route, operated by Windward Islands Airways International N.V. (WinAir), will run three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) also extended congratulations to Minister Henderson, recognizing the milestone as a significant step in improving access between St. Kitts and Barbados.

 

Based in St. Maarten, WinAir has been serving the Caribbean since 1961, connecting destinations such as St. Barths, Saba and other islands.
