St. Kitts & Nevis joins the world in observing Earth Day 2024
The Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis joined the world in the observance of Earth Day 2024. Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22nd to demonstrate support for environmental protection. The official theme for 2024 is “Planet vs. Plastics.” As such, Nevis’ Minister of Environment, the Hon. Spencer Brand, spoke of how plastic pollution is affecting the Earth:

In St. Kitts, Minister of Environment & Climate Action, Hon. Dr. Joyelle Clarke said the Parks & Beaches Unit (within her Ministry) led a small clean-up campaign in the Buckley’s area. She appealed to the public to “consider the environmental impacts of illegal dumping”, being Air quality, Fire hazard and Health hazard.
