St. Kitts Scenic Railway “partially derailed” in St. Paul’s village
The Scenic Railway Train partially derailed in St. Paul’s Village, St. Kitts, during a tour on Sunday Jan. 26th, between the hours of 2PM and 3PM.
The train encountered an engine issue(s) that resulted in the last five (5) cars becoming derailed. The passengers were transported back to their cruise vessels by the Scenic Railway buses shortly thereafter.
A police spokesperson said over 200 passengers were on the train, one person complained of a painful hand but no other injury was reported.
The St. Kitts Scenic Railway runs for 30 miles around the island, affording views of the mountains, beaches, and plantations.
