St. Kitts sees first shipment of plastic bales for recycling
The Federal Government in collaboration with the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) and the Taiwan Technical Mission in Saint Kitts, marked a milestone on Tuesday, April 8th with the first shipment of plastic bales from Saint Kitts for recycling.
This underscores the Federation’s growing commitment to environmental sustainability.
The occasion was celebrated with a ceremony at the Recycling Facility at the Conaree Landfill, attendees included Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley; Minister of Environment and Climate Action, Hon. Dr. Joyelle Clarke; Minister of Health-Nevis; Hon. Jahnel Nisbett and Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Saint Kitts and Nevis, H.E. Michael Lin.
Additionally, the ceremony featured the donation of 400 reusable shopping bags from the Government of Taiwan to the Ministry of Environment in Saint Kitts and the Nevis Island Administration.
