The late former Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis, Sir, Samuel Weymouth Tapley Seaton GCMG, CCVO, KC, JP, LLD will receive a state funeral with full military honors on Thursday, July 20^th, 2023 at the Zion Moravian Church, St. Kitts at 2pm.

The day will be recognized as a National Day of Mourning and a half holiday throughout the federation, according to a proclamation made by the current Governor General, Her Excellency, Dame Marcella Liburd.

The body of the former Governor General will lie at Government House on July 20^th for public viewing from 9am to 1pm and all flags on government buildings will be flown at half- staff.

Sir Seaton who passed away on June 29^th 2023 served as the federation’s first and youngest Attorney General after Independence from 1983-1995 and served as governor general from 2015- 2023.
