Stoney Grove Resident Convicted and Fined for Drug Offenses on Nevis
Kriston Liburd, a resident of Stoney Grove, Nevis, has been convicted on multiple drug-related charges and fined after pleading guilty to drug possession and importation offenses.
On November 11, 2025, at the District “A” Magistrate’s Court, Liburd was sentenced by Her Honour Mrs. Rhonda Nisbett-Browne.
Liburd received a fine of $5,000 XCD for the offense of drug importation, with the option of serving six months in prison if the fine is not paid within five months.
Additionally, he was fined $2,000 XCD for possession of cannabis packaged to deceive under the Customs Act, with a two-month prison sentence if not paid within three months.
He was also fined $3,000 XCD for making a false declaration to a customs officer, with a five-month sentence if not paid within four months.
This conviction serves as a reminder of the strict penalties for drug-related offenses. Liburd’s fines and the corresponding prison sentences highlight the seriousness with which authorities are addressing drug crimes in the Federation.
