Friday May 9th, 2025, the 16th Annual Interscholastic Spelling Bee Competition took place among Nevisian Schools.
In the Primary School edition, the St. Thomas Primary dethroned last year’s winners, the Ivor Walter Primary, to earn the first place title. The second and third runners up respectively were the Joycelyn Liburd Primary and the St. James Primary School.
Jadrien Jones of the St. James Primary was declared Best Speller. In second came Bella Polius, of the St. Thomas’ Primary, and third was Reneise Hanley of the Maude Cross Preparatory.
For the Nevisian secondary schools, the Gingerland Secondary School did a clean sweep of the competition earning the first place position and winning first, second and third place for the title of Best Speller.
Best Speller is Ajernée Hodge, while Aminique Chapman and Kadmiel Christmas earned second and third runner up respectively.
Overall, the Charlestown Secondary School took the second spot while the Nevis International Secondary School took the third position.
