Students of SKN awarded scholarships to undertake tertiary education in Cuba

Eight students from the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis have been awarded scholarships which will afford them the opportunity to pursue tertiary education in the Republic of Cuba.

 

 

 

The Cuban Scholarships were facilitated through the Ministry of Human Resources in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) who offered nine (9) scholarships but a total of eight were selected.

 

 

 

The available spots included: five (5) offers for Medicine, one (1) offer for Nursing/Health Technology, two (2) offers for specialisation in Medicine and one (1) offer for a non-medical discipline.

 

 

 

The recipients of the scholarships are Ms. Shianne England, Ms. Ajuma Liburd, Ms. Sharon Mwangi, Ms. Jaquelyn Davis and Ms. Jonie Williams receiving scholarships to study Medicine. Dr. Meriskah Phipps studying specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Dr. Kha-Lis Farrel in Anaesthesiology and Reanimation and Ms. Alexandria Richards who will study Physical Education. The students are expected to journey to the Republic of Cuba at the end of January to commence their studies.
