Symbol Of Love Monument and Museum Project Breaks Ground in St. Kitts
The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has officially broken ground on the Symbol of Love Monument and Museum Project, a landmark tourism development set along the island’s southwest coast overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
The US $30 million project, led by ABL Holdings, will feature a white marble monument surrounded by a fountain lake, botanical gardens, restaurants and cultural museums celebrating Caribbean, local and international heritage.
During Friday’s groundbreaking ceremony, Prime Minister, Dr. Terrance Drew hailed the projects as “the beginning of a new chapter” for the Federation’s tourism sector, describing it as a symbol of heritage, unity and everlasting love.
Dr. Drew explained that the development follows a lease to own model, ensuring public interest is protected while providing hundreds of jobs for locals during construction and operation. He said the project will not only attract visitors but also serve as a living classroom where students can learn about St. Kitts, the Caribbean and the world.
Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson and Foreign Minister, Dr. Denzil Douglas also attended the ceremony, expressing their full support for the initiative. Once completed, the Symbol of Love Monument and Museum is expected to redefine tourism in St. Kitts and Nevis – blending culture, education and economic growth into one iconic attraction.
