Taiwanese Ambassador Pays Courtesy Visit to Police Commissioner James Sutton
Following the arrival of newly appointed Taiwanese Ambassador to Saint Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Edward Ling-Wen Tao, he has been making his rounds to visit national leaders including Governor General of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dame Marcella Liburd.
The most recent courtesy visit took place on August 21st, 2025, where Commissioner of Police, James Sutton welcomed, the Taiwanese Ambassador to the Police Headquarters.
Ambassador Tao, who presented his credentials to Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew on July 31st, engaged in a productive discussion with Commissioner Sutton on the strong and ongoing partnership between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Federation.
The conversation highlighted Taiwan’s support in areas such as education, food production, infrastructure, and especially law enforcement. Recent collaborations have enhanced crime prevention and security efforts.
Tao expressed Taiwan’s continued commitment to working with the Royal Saint Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), with a focus on crime prevention and youth outreach. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared goal of building safer communities and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
