The Tourism Development Tax (TDL) is expected to see an increase from 2% to 3% from June 1st, 2025.
The Tourism Development Tax is collected by registered businesses in the tourism industry such as hotels, restaurants, Air B&Bs and guesthouses. The tax will be then paid to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), who in turn passes on the funds to the Nevis Tourism Authority.
The authority then utilizes it to finance marketing and advertising operations for the island’s tourism product.
Representative of the Inland Revenue Department, Ms. Sidama Jones tells us more:
Persons are reminded that the penalty for late payments is 10% along with a 1% interest fee for each month.
