Team Nevis unable to secure Championship Title for a Successive Time in LIDC
This past weekend, the 53rd annual Leeward Island Debating Competition (LIDC) was held in St. Marteen, featuring the islands of Anguilla, Antigua, Nevis, St. Kitts and St. Maarten, from March 6th to 8th, 2025.
Team Nevis, who was the winner of last year’s edition, automatically advanced to the semifinals but was unable to advance to the final debate.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Youth, et. al., Ms. Zahnela Claxton, gave this comment:
The debate took place on Friday, March 7th, where they opposed Team Antigua on the topic: “Parental Leave Should Be Equal for both Mothers and Fathers”.
