The future of job prospects and qualification in SKN – TVET
During TVET Month, this November, the latest edition of “InFocus” featured CEO of the St. Kitts – Nevis TVET Council Secretariat, Dr. Kertney Thompson, where he discussed the topic “Empowering Sustainable Development Through Educational and Vocational Training”.
One main function of the council is assessing skilled workers and awarding them a qualification certificate (NVQ/CVQ) based on industry and occupation standards. Dr. Thompson shared this:

He further highlighted many benefits to these certificates such as reduced time gaining recognized professional qualifications, opportunities for higher pay as well as education emphasizing that not only occupations such as mechanics or contractors, but doctors can also benefit.
