“There are actually micro plastics in our fish” says Nevis’ Senior Environmental Officer
On Thursday February 13th, the Department of Physical Planning and Environment on Nevis will have a Public Engagement Session on the ban of Single Use Plastics. It will take place at the Memorial Square in Charlestown from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Additionally, the ban began on December 31st with Phase 1, where importation of t-shirt shopping bags were prohibited. Over the coming months, the importation of Styrofoam food containers, plastic straws, cups, utensils, and plates will follow. Three months after the initial ban of the items, the distribution of these items will be capped.
