Tributes paid to Former Tourism Minister et. al., Mr. Arthur Evelyn

The funeral service of the late Arthur Evelyn took place on Monday, August 23rd 2021, at the Elquemedo T. Willett Park, in Charlestown.

 

At the service many well-wishers paid tributes to the Former Minister. Here are excerpts of some of the tributes offered:

Mr. Arthur Evelyn served as a member of the Nevis Island Assembly from 1983 to 1992, during which he was appointed as the first Minister of Agriculture, Lands, Housing, Labour, and Tourism, serving until 1987.

 

During his tenure, the first land reform program on Nevis was implemented, which gave Nevisians an opportunity to own land. He also served as a registered pharmacist for many years, addressing the healthcare needs of many Nevisians.
