The St. Kitts Meteorological Services and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) are closely monitoring the progress of a Tropical Wave in the Atlantic Ocean which they “is expected to move into our area by Friday”.
In an advisory, officials say it is “expected to influence weather conditions across St. Kitts and Nevis.”
The wave is located east of the islands and has a low to medium chance of further development in the next day or two. Met officials said “we are likely to experience mostly cloudy skies and shower activity, with a moderate chance of thunderstorms on Friday.” Some lingering moisture is forecast to bring some additional showers on Saturday.
Met Services and NEMA urged all to review your “disaster plan as we enter the peak period of the Atlantic Hurricane Season.”
