Two Ambulances Delivered to JNF Hospital, Expanding Emergency Response Capability
Two Ambulances Delivered to JNF Hospital, Expanding Emergency Response Capability
The emergency medical response in St. Kitts and Nevis received a boost on Thursday, August 14th, with the delivery of two additional ambulances to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, bringing the ambulance fleet to five in St. Kitts marking an improvement in the Ministry of Health’s ability to respond swiftly to emergencies.
“These ambulances are more than just vehicles, they are lifelines, equipped to provide critical care during those crucial moments when every second counts,” said Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Mr. Curtis Martin.
One of the refurbished ambulances, serviced by the TDC Automotive Division, was driven in by EMT Services Supervisor, Mr. Davis Glasgow, who joined Mr. Martin and Mr. Dillon Edmeade, Personal Assistant to the Prime Minister for an inspection.
Three ambulances will now operate from JNF, with one each stationed at Mary Charles Hospital and Pogson Medical Centre.
“Looking ahead, we are proud to share that by November 2025 we will be adding seven more ambulances to our fleet,” Mr. Martin added.
The medical and transport staff were reminded of the importance of operating ambulances with professionalism, care, and a strong commitment to patient safety and dignity. A call was also made for continued collaboration between healthcare staff and the public to build a more compassionate, reliable, and trusted health system.
