Two quakes occur near St. Kitts-Nevis on October 20th
Two earthquakes occurred near St. Kitts-Nevis on Monday Oct 20th, based on information from the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC).
UWI said the first was at 9:09 pm (local time), with a magnitude of 3.5, located at Latitude: 17.99 degrees North, Longitude: 62.43 degrees West, at a depth of 20 km.
It took place 83 km, NE of Basseterre, Saint Kitts, 117 km, NW Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda 135 km, North of Brades, Montserrat.
Then, about two hours later, the second occurred at 11:36 pm. This had a magnitude of 4.2 located at Latitude: 17.56 degrees N, Longitude: 61.72 degrees W, at a depth of 11 km.
This was 52 km, NNE Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, 101 km, NE Brades, Montserrat and 116 km, ENE Basseterre, Saint Kitts.
