U.S. Funds Construction of Bureau of Standards Laboratory on Nevis

Work has begun on the site of where a State-of-the-art Bureau of Standards Laboratory will be constructed on Nevis at Pinney’s Industrial Site, funded through humanitarian assistance from the United States government. The project, valued at approximately US$2.5 million, was confirmed through a diplomatic note dated December 15th, 2025, and is supported by the U.S. Southern Command’s Civil Military Operations Directorate.

 

Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark Brantley gave information about its expected impact:

 

 

Oversight of the project will be handled by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command. Texol Integration Group, a U.S.-based contractor in Puerto Rico, is serving as the prime contractor, with Affluent Homes Limited, a Nevis-based company will be engaged as a subcontractor. Credit was given to the Hon. Spencer Brand and his ministry for coordinating the initiative.
