The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) hosted an HIV/AIDS estimates and projections workshop with government data experts from thirteen Caribbean countries, in Kingston Jamaica from Jan. 23rd-27th.
The workshop’s purpose was to train the staff of Caribbean national authorities responsible for the estimates and projections of the HIV pandemic using the methods and procedures recommended by UNAIDS.
UNAIDS Multi-country Director for the Caribbean region, Dr. Richard Amenyah, told the VONNEWSLINE, of UNAIDS end goal.
