US policy on Cuba Medical Export Program: Where does SKN stand?

The U.S. has described Cuba’s Medical Export Program as “forced labour”, a form of “human trafficking” and has accused the Cuban government of accumulating profits while medical professionals work under exploitative conditions.

As a consequence, the U.S. government announced an expansion on visa restrictions targeting Cuban and foreign officials involved in Cuba’s overseas labour export program.

Speaking about the matter on Mar. 6th, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, affirmed that the Cubans are in SKN earning an honest living:

SKN has diplomatic relations with Cuba, which were established on May 10th 1995 and enjoys visa-waiver access for a period of 27 days, according to the Federation’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, foreign.gov.kn.
