On Wednesday evening, December 18th, the National Bank Folk Galore Competition, took place at The Circus, Downtown, Basseterre, St. Kitts. This competition featured traditional cultural performances performed by folklore groups across St. Kitts and Nevis. It was all apart of the action for Sugarmas53.
The participants were: the Destiny Jumping Clowns, Johnny Walkers, St. Peter’s Clown, St. Peter’s Actors, Tabernacle Ancestors Mummies, Sandy Point Mocko Jumbies, David Dynasty Masquerades, Camp Culture Masquerades, De Vybz Masquerades, Valon’s International Masquerade, Camp Culture Bull, Monkey Hill Bull, St. Peter’s Explorers Bull, and Mansion Bull.
These are the winners:
In the mixed category: the winners were the St. Peter’s Actors while second and third place were the Sandy Point Mocko Jumbies and the St. Peter’s Clowns respectively.
For the masqueraders: 1st place went to Valon’s International Masquerades, the David Dynasty masquerades were declared the second-place winners while the third position went to the Camp Culture Masquerades.
Monkey Hill Bull placed first while, SKN Bull and St. Peter’s Explorers Bull, placed second and third respectivelty for the Bull Competition.
