On Friday November 29th, the Nevis Cooperative Credit Union SJCIC Quiz took place between the seven public primary schools on the island. The schools are the Charlestown Primary, Ivor Walters Primary, Joycelyn Liburd Primary, Elizabeth Pemberton Primary, St. James’ Primary, St. Thomas’ Primary and Violet O. Jeffers Nichols Primary.
The students were asked several questions spanning the subject areas of: Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Mathematics in four rounds.
After an intense tie breaker round, Advaith Swaminathan earned the title of Top Student hailing from VOJN. Runner up was Michyla Bailey of Charlestown Primary.
Another tie breaker round was done to determine the top 3 positions. Tied with 30 points each were: the Charlestown Primary, Ivor Walters Primary and Violet O. Jeffers Nichols Primary. This was the tie breaking question that determined the top position:
That was the Violet O. Jeffers Nichols Primary emerging first place. Second was the Ivor Walters Primary and third place the Charlestown Primary School.
